A reusable snack bag by Stasher (US) — tested and approved

Refuse Plastic Today have sent me a Stasher Reusable Snack bag to test.

The Stasher bags are promoted as endlessly reusable, radically functional platinum-silicone storage bags that are better for us and the planet. Also, the bag is to hold two avocado halves, it is perfect for nuts and dried fruits, it organises one’s jewelry and protects one’s mobile phone. Sounds nice, isn’t it?

I have carried a plastic food container with me on a daily basis for several years. Not so long ago a compostable food storage bag came along instead of a container made from plastic. Sandwishes, strawberries, sweet cherries, slices of cucumber, a piece of cake, and similar. So, I have tested containers with different environmental impact (materials), varying sizes and shapes, closure systems and weight.

I have become aware of four highly important features of a good food container: size, weight, being leakproof and easy to clean. I am not so much interested in carrying around nuts and dried fruits, but for example an oat porridge that has a slightly runny texture. The Stasher bag completed the test to qualify as leakproof. Also, the bag surprised me as it was even easier to clean than I expected (and it dried very well).

I certainly recommend you try one of the Stasher bags!

It is important to note that Stasher is a woman owned and operated business that won the Red Dot Award for product design in 2016!

Get inspired!
